It is called BYOD or bring your own device. Some businesses are using this strategy to keep costs down and increase production in the office. However, is this strategy really the best for a business that wants to save costs purchasing USB flash drives or memory sticks for its employees? While it may seem great on the surface and appear to be helping a company comply with keeping costs in line with the overall budget, it still may not answer all the data protection obligations for customers. For example, since an employee owns a USB flash drive, are the also liable when that same drive needs to be taken to an expert for USB flash drive recovery? How far does the ownership of that flash drive extend, when an employee is placing company files on their own personally owned flash drive and who pays if a flash drive is bad or develops a virus that could infect an entire network of computers or Raid system?
A company may want to consider what files an employee can access on their flash drive or memory stick and if they will provide antivirus protection security for such devices.memory stick recoveryraid recoveryUSB flash drive recovey
